Home / glossary / decarboxylation

Decarboxylation is the process that activates compounds in cannabis such as THC and CBD. The cannabis decarboxylation process must occur before our bodies can absorb certain cannabinoids, like CBD or THC, through digestion. Cannabis decarboxylation must occur before ingestion to reap the benefits of activated CBD or THC.
