“Women belong in all places where decisions are being made.”
The theme of International Women’s Day 2021 is #ChooseToChallenge. A challenged world is an alert world. We can all choose to challenge and call out gender bias and inequality. We can all choose to seek out and celebrate women’s achievements. Collectively, we can all help create an inclusive world.
From challenge comes change! Below we celebrate four GrowHealthy female leaders who challenge us daily by pushing us to be our best selves and leading by example.
Hannah Lewis
Sr. Director of Retail Operations
Positioned at the top of GrowHealthy’s retail organizational chart, Hannah fearlessly leads dispensary, delivery, and contact center operations; meaning everyone from Regional Managers, to Logistics Coordinators, and Patient Care Representatives falls under her purview.
“I realized the power of cannabis when helping my mum find alternative treatments for a serious illness,” explains Hannah. “Once I was educated on its extraordinary benefits, I knew I wanted to transition my career expertise to empower people to live their healthiest, happiest lives through cannabis.”
How does Hannah #ChooseToChallenge?
“Mentorship has played a key role in my career. Early on I was advised to discover mentors in and outside of my organization to help shape my professional development. Now, I share the knowledge I have gained by mentoring other women, while continuing to seek out my own mentors. We all win when we invest in each other.”
Tiffany Smith
Senior Market Manager – SOFL
Tiffany oversees eight GrowHealthy dispensaries and one GrowHealthy delivery hub – no small task!
“My favorite part of working at GrowHealthy is hearing patients share how cannabis has improved their quality of life,” says Tiffany.
How does Tiffany #ChooseToChallenge?
“I come from a family full of strong, determined women who showed me that my voice is powerful and important. I strive to provide opportunities and resources for other women to embrace their power. Being a woman of color, I recognize how much representation matters in leadership for our GrowHealthy team members and patients. I am honored and privileged to help pave the way for others just as other women and people of color paved the way for me. It is my goal to be an advocate, a champion, an example, a supporter, a self-esteem booster, a fighter against injustice, and a positive force for all women.”
Rae Smith
Senior Quality Control Manager – Cultivation & Operational Facility
Rae leads GrowHealthy’s Quality Assurance Team and ensures the quality and safety of all products manufactured by GrowHealthy.
Passionate about her role, Rae recognizes that “the Cannabis industry allows for opportunities to make a difference in patient lives. GrowHealthy allows me to ensure our products are safe and meet or exceed patient expectations. My job goes beyond considering quality to incorporate social responsibility and sustainability.”
How does Rae #ChooseToChallenge?
“Every day I choose to make my efforts count! As one of five sisters with a working mom, growing up we were very dependent on each other. We all succeeded – or failed – together. My professional goals were formed based on the same values we shared as a family. Quality takes more than just a team effort. It truly does “take a village” to ensure success. I am driven each day by identifying high-potential young women that never would have pictured themselves as a quality professional. By giving them the necessary support to build confidence and expand their options in business, it elevates us all.”
Emily Delaney
Market Manager – NOFL
Emily oversees five GrowHealthy dispensaries, ensuring dispensary team members have the tools they need to be successful every day.
Emily was inspired to join the cannabis industry after her brother Josh passed away in 2009. Emily shares, “My brother medicated with Cannabis, it was one of the few things that made him feel himself on his worst days. At that time cannabis was not widely considered medication. Josh would be proud to see how far our industry has evolved.”
How does Emily #ChooseToChallenge?
“It is important to me that women rise by building each other up. I strive to do this by encouraging positive thinking, self-care, and gratitude. One of the best things about GrowHealthy is our people-centric culture. We truly embrace diversity and maintain equality amongst all our team members.”
